Henk J. Bolink
Group Leader
Henk J. Bolink is a Professor at the University of Valencia and PI of the ERC Advanced Grant project HELD. Henk obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Science at the University of Groningen in 1997. After that he worked at DSM as a materials scientist and project manager. In 2001 he joined Philips, to lead the materials development activity of Philips’s PolyLED project. Since 2003 he is at the Instituto de Ciencia Molecular (ICMol) of the University of Valencia. He is the head of the Molecular Opto-Electronic Devices group supervising approximately 10 Ph.D. students and several post-docs. His current research interests encompass: inorganic/organic hybrid materials such as transition metal complexes and perovskites and their integration in LEDs and solar cells.

Michele Sessolo
Ramón y Cajal Fellow
Michele earned a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Padova (Italy). He later moved to the University of Valencia where he earned a M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Materials Science working on organic light-emitting diodes. He has been Marie Curie post-doctoral fellow in the Bioelectronics Dept. at the Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne (France), working on the application of conducting polymer to electrophysiology. Michele is now Ramon y Cajal fellow at ICMol, where he develops innovative perovskite optoelectronic devices.

Francisco Palazon
Juan de la Cierva Fellow
Francisco Palazón received his PhD from Ecole Centrale de Lyon (France) in 2014 under the supervision of Jean-Pierre Cloarec and Yann Chevolot, with a thesis on chemical surface functionalization. From 2015 to 2017 he worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Nanochemistry Department of Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia led by Liberato Manna in Genoa (Italy), where he worked on halide perovskite nanocrystals and surface chemical analysis. Since 2018 he develops his research in the Molecular OptoElectronic Devices group at Universidad de Valencia (Spain), first with a Marie Curie fellowship (2018-2020) and now with a Juan de la Cierva Fellowship (2020-present).

Jorge Ferrando
Technician
Graduated in ETT Electronic Systems by The University of Valencia, Spain. He develops, since 2008, mainly tasks of programming and instrumentation control, as well as characterization of optoelectronic molecular devices and start-up thin film deposition systems.

María Monrabal
Technician
Maria completed her B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Valencia, Spain. She continued her studies with a PhD in Chemistry in the group of Prof. E. Coronado at the University of Valencia. Later on, she started to work in the group of Dr. Bolink as a Research technician and as support for the management of research projects.

Lidón Gil-Escrig
Post-doctoral researcher
Lidón received her PhD in 2017 from University of Valencia under the supervision of Dr Bolink and Dr Sessolo. Her work focused mainly on vacuum multi-layer perovskites-based opto-electronic devices. She was a post-doctoral researcher at the Helmholtz centre of Berlin with Dr Albrecht. Her research was based on vacuum-processed perovskite solar cells. Lidón is now post-doctoral researcher at Henk Bolink’s group.

Beom-Soo Kim
Post-doctoral researcher
Beom-Soo Kim received his PhD degree from Seoul National University (South Korea) in the department of Materials Science & Engineering at August, 2019. His work focuses mainly on controlling the vacuum process for the perovskite-based opto-electronic devices. He has joined to Henk Bolink’s group as a post-doctoral researcher since October 2019.

Kassio P. S. Zanoni
Post-doctoral researcher
Kassio was a doctorate student in IQ-USP, Brazil, from 2010 to 2016, with an one-year abroad-internship in the University of North Carolina, USA, and received his PhD in Chemistry in April 2016. He was a postdoctoral researcher in Instituto de Física de Sao Carlos-USP from 2016 to 2019. Currently, he is a postdoctoral researcher at the Universidad de Valéncia, Spain. His main interests lie on fabrication and characterization of new materials for optoelectronics, such as perovskite solar cells, and has collaborations on molecular engineering and photobehavior of coordination compounds, in special Ir(III) complexes.

Laura Martínez Sarti
Post-doctoral researcher
Laura obtained a M.Sc. in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in 2016 from the University of Valencia. In 2020, she received her Ph.D. with a work entitled “Luminescent perovskites: from materials to light-emitting devices” under the supervision of Prof. Bolink and Dr. Sessolo at the Institute of Molecular Science. Currently, she is a postdoctoral researcher at Prof. Bolink’s group mainly focusing her work on the development of mixed perovskite solar cells.

Daniel Pérez del Rey

Daniel completed his undergraduate studies in chemistry at the University of Valencia, Spain. He finished his master’s degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology and now is doing his PhD. degree under the supervision of Henk Bolink, focused on vacuum deposited perovskite solar cells.

Ana María Igual Muñoz
PhD Candidate
Ana M. Igual is a Ph.D. student in the University of Valencia under the supervision of Dr. Henk Bolink. Her research is focused on the development of solar cells with tin-lead perovskites as the absorbers. She had her Master’s Degree in Molecular Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in the University of Valencia, in 2017. She focused her studies in the synthesis of hybrid thermoelectric materials through electrochemical methods.

Isidora Susic

Isidora graduated as B.Sc. in Physical chemistry from University of Belgrade and received her Master’s degree in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at University of Valencia. She is currently a Ph.D. student in MOED group and focuses on the gas post-treatment of perovskite solar cells.

Chris Dreessen
PhD Candidate
Chris obtained his B.Sc. in Physics at Heidelberg University, Germany, in 2015 and specialized in Quantum Mechanics in his M.Sc. at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark (2017). He is now working as a Ph.D. student at MOED where he focuses on the opto-electronic characterization of perovskite solar cells.
